Shamrock Technologies BVBA Powers Ahead with Solar Investment

Newark, NJ — August 19, 2025 — Shamrock Technologies is proud to announce a major solar energy installation on the roof of its Tongeren, Belgium facility, marking a significant leap forward in the company’s commitment to sustainable operations and environmental responsibility.
Completed this spring, the solar installation features 1,452 high-performance panels, each producing 445 Wp, generating an estimated 623,000 kWh of clean energy annually. Spanning 4,500 square meters, the project was executed in a three-week timeline—underscoring Shamrock’s dedication to swift, smart action in sustainability.
“This is more than just an energy upgrade,” said Christophe Schepers, Production Manager of Shamrock Technologies BVBA. “We’re proud to reduce our carbon footprint while powering our operations with clean, renewable energy.”
Utilizing four 110 kW inverters, the system converts solar power directly for use within the facility. Production optimizations will allow 85% of generated energy to be consumed internally, while the remaining 15% will be supplied to the national grid—further contributing to community energy needs.
Environmental & Operational Benefits:
- Reduction of 104,000 kg of CO₂ emissions annually
- Offset equivalent to the electricity use of 385 households
- Covers 21% of the Shamrock site’s total electricity demand
This initiative reflects the company’s broader strategy to align innovation with responsibility—advancing carbon-conscious practices while delivering high-performance technologies across processes.
“Our new solar panel installation is an important step,” said Mr. Schepers. “We’re continuing to make thoughtful investments toward a more sustainable future.”
